# How to: Combine Two Lock Positions

***NOTE*****: Remember to claim your rewards before merging, or you could lose any unclaimed rewards.**

Once you have at least two XCAL locked positions, you will be able to combine them for having a unique lock period and voting power.

**To combine two Lock Position:**

* Under the 3xcali**Govern** page, you will find a tab called *Lock*.
* On this page you will be able to see your total locked XCAL and total voting power (if you have any). Additionally, you will see a list of all your locks or veNFTs under *My locks.*
* Hit *Manage* on one of your locked positions/veNFTs to update its locking time.
* This leads to an interface with three tabs *Update Lock Time, Increase Lock,* and *Combine.*
* Navigate to the *Combine* tab and you will be able to select two veNFTs to combine.
* Make sure that both veNFT have not voted yet otherwise combining is not possible.
* Make sure you have claimed rewards on both veNFTs so you do not miss out on any rewards when one of the NFTs is burned to create the merge.
* Review the new combined lock period, unlock date, vote multiplier, and voting power.
* If satisfied, hit *Combine* and Metamask transactions will pop-up.
* Sign and confirm the Metamask transactions to finalize.
